It's sort of been a short and quick summer here in the North West. Our tomatoes are not ripening, there has yet to be a "dog day" and the high cost (and price) of fuel has kept me close to home.
But with this being said this has been a great summer. I've had the ability to find enjoyment in simple things around my home. I've taken longer walks then I normally take during which I have seen and smelled an array of plants I've never taken the time to smell. I've walked through neighborhoods I've never taken the time to walk through. I've regained a love for my bicycle. Best of all I've learned how to cook food I've never cooked before. It's been a great summer.
So with this being said the simplicity of the Avett Brothers' performance this Wednesday will be a much awaited experience during this scaled down simple summer. Picnic blankets, lawn chairs and golden sunsets await.
