Trip Log Vol. I: Seattle, WA - Dodge City, KS

June 24th 7AM -

Monica and I are packed and ready to begin our search for the midway point between Seattle WA and Dodge City KS.

I believe the first song on the non-stop ever evolving month long playlist was "California Dreamin'" by The Mamas and the Papas however this was quickly vetoed and replaced with a nice mix of Fleet Foxes, Death Cab and Belle and Sebastian. A much better choice for your 7am listening experience. We had a long trip ahead of us, might as well start it off right.

We drove to South Western Idaho where we sat in the nicest rest area of the trip. Sorry no pictures of the rest area.

From there we drove the width of Idaho then dropped down into Utah where we found the Half-Way point, or at least our stopping place for the night, Ogden Utah! If I remember right, after time changes and stops and all were were on the road for about 14 hours driving about 900 miles. One of the longest travel days on the trip.

After sleeping through the alarm clock we woke up early the next morning, ate waffles then were on the road to drive to Kansas.

We headed east through Wyoming. If you haven't driven east on I-80 through Wyoming the only thing you are missing is an advertisement for a place called "Little America."

Once in Colorado we chased an amazing thunder storm.

From Colorado we headed into Kansas. Drove most of Kansas at night which is actually more enjoyable then driving during the day. Arriving in Dodge City around 1:30 AM. I believe we drove around 900 miles that day as well.

More to come!
